Fantasy Golf Picks for the Waste Management Open

  1. Harris English, $8,700 – He’s had back to back top 11s, including a tough top 8 last week at the Farmers Insurance Open. He’s a value pick here at under $9k, because he feels like almost a sure thing. His driving accuracy was down last week (which was expected), and the fairways are a little wider here. He has a previous 3rd place finish here only 2 years ago. I tend to lean towards guys that can make cuts, and I feel good about him.
  2. Bud Cauley, $13,400 – I’m going to keep rolling with him until he fails me. He’s a great price, too. He’s 7/7 on cuts this year, and while the Farmer’s Insurance was tough (it wasn’t easy for anyone), he has 3 top 15s this year. I like the all-around game I see from him. In the top 6 categories on PGA Tour website, his worst is SG: Approach-the-green in 37th.
  3. Robert Garrigus, $8,900 – I like him mainly due to the price. Everything I’m hearing though is great things about this guy. He smokes the ball off the tee and has a great game, except for the putting.  He’s also coming off a T8 last week, and when he’s hot, he can be a really good player.
  4. Rickie Fowler, $33,300 – Can’t say enough good things about this guy. Before missing the cut last week, he was 3/3 on cuts made with 3 top 5s. He’s coming off back-to-back top 3s in this tournament. And, honestly, this dude loves hole 16 more than anyone. He’s ready for the big stage after 2 extra days off. He has the skill to take down Matsuyama, it’s all about execution now.
  5. Grayson Murray, $12,800 – He’s 6/6 on cuts made this year. And you don’t have a chance in this league if you have guys missing the cut. I also saw this guy in person in La Quinta for the Career Builder and I liked what I saw. He’s an athlete, he’s built for the long haul and I trust him to hit it big this week.
  6. Keegan Bradley, $20,100 – He’s coming off of a sneaky backdoor top 10 at Torrey Pines. That course is tough and his game is peaking. He’s been a reliable player in terms of fantasy and I look forward to him to continue this week. I expect him to be fully juiced up with his Patriots in the Super Bowl, that excitement will carry him to the win.
